Aerial LiDAR
We are specialists in the use of rotary and fixed-wing platforms, for LiDAR surveys. Our technology enables us to rapidly produce highly-accurate cartographic and engineering products, that usually present cost savings over traditional survey methods.
The laser beams are between 10-20 cm (4–8 inches) in diameter, once they reach ground level. Any portion of this beam area that strikes an object will trigger a reflection, which will be measured by the scanner in terms of its geodetic position (its exact X, Y and Z co-ordinates). This position is calculated from an onboard kinematic Global Positioning System (GPS) and ground-based differential GPS stations that continually receive information from a constellation of satellites.
What's more, the scanner is also synchronized to an airborne digital camera that will determine the color of the object from which the reflection came.
Network Mapping is able to produce a range of products using aerial LiDAR technology. Customized solutions can be found under the "Industry applications" tab. For generic aerial LiDAR products, click here.
